WEST SIDE RAIL YARD

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is soliciting proposals from qualified parties to develop two of Manhattan’s most extraordinary sites: the eastern and western portions of the John D. Caemmerer West Side Yard; a rail storage yard located on the west side of Manhattan operated by The Long Island Rail Road Company.

The John D. Caemmerer West Side Yard comprises approximately 26.17 acres and provides a rare combination of large footprint sites and an extraordinary mid-Manhattan location. It is divided into two development parcels, the Eastern Rail Yard and the Western Rail Yard.
